UPCOMING EVENTS FOR 2017-2018

 

 

Sunday, November 26 at 4:00 PM.   EVENSONG IN THE CHAPEL.  Take a few moments from your hectic week to experience a traditional Evensong of chanting, prayer and choral music.  The service length is approximately 35 minutes.  Open to the public.

 

Sunday, December 10 at 3:00 PM.  ANNUAL TOWN “MESSIAH” SING.  Held at Carter Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Highland Ave., Needham.  Christmas portion and “Hallelujah Chorus” will be sung by audience, accompanied by orchestra.  Soloists: Lisa Correnti, soprano; Pamela Goody, alto; Grant Furgiuele, tenor; Mark Anderson, bass.

Bring your own scores or borrow one from Carter Church, which will be available at the door.  Also in the program, Carter’s Bell Choir performing Christmas selections.  FREE and open to the community.

 

Sunday, December 24, CHRISTMAS EVE:

At 10:00 AM, Service in the Chapel

At 4:00 PM, join in on the Family Service, which includes a Christmas Pageant. 

At 8:30 PM, Christmas carols Sing-Along.  Choose your favorite Christmas carols.

At 9:00 PM, Choral service with Communion

 

Monday, December 25 at 9:00 AM.  CHRISTMAS DAY IN THE CHAPEL.  Enjoy the quiet of the birth of our Savior in the intimate space of the Chapel.  Christmas carols.

Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3:00 PM.  CONCERT:  FAURÉ “REQUIEM”

Rivers Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Needhamite David Tierney, will perform “Symphony in D” by Juan Arriaga, “Overture to ‘La Grotta di Trofono’ by Salieri and Fauré “Requiem.”  The “Requiem” will be peformed by Choirs from Christ Church, Needham, Congregational Church of Needham and St. Paul Church of Dedham, with soloists: Julie Tierney, soprano and Mark Anderson, bass.  The combined choirs will be accompanied by RSO.  The concert is FREE and open to the public.  Donations are gladly accepted to defray costs of this special program.

 

Holy Week 2018

Thursday, March 29 at 6:00 PM.  Maundy Thursday service beginning with a simple soup   supper in Upper Parish Hall.  At 7:00 PM, service and foot washing in the Chapel.
