Local Outreach

Called to love our neighbors as ourselves, we are committed to serving people in need in our local community and greater Boston area. We try to meet real needs in the community and also build relationships with those we serve.

Here are some highlights of our service:

  • Cooking and serving a hot lunch to 150 homeless guests monthly for the MANNA Monday Lunch Program at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Boston
  • Collecting socks and mittens for the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless
  • Celebrating the Eucharist and sharing brown bag lunches with the homeless on the Boston Common as part of Ecclesia Ministries
  • Sharing reading and study time with young participants in an after-school program at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Mattapan.
  • Serving lunch for a week and providing snacks and a field trip for children participating in B-Safe, a summer day camp for sixty inner-city children in grades 1-6.
  • Collecting and donating food monthly to the Needham Community Council
  • Donating gently used clothing to Circle of Hope, which distributes clothes to individuals and families living in shelters throughout Boston
  • Knitting hats, scarves, and mittens for our guests at the MANNA Monday Lunch Program
  • Purchasing and wrapping Christmas gifts for children and assembling “Winter Care” gift bags for women living at Shepherd House and other shelters
