Annually, Community Concerns sponsors a sale of Christmas blooming amaryllis, beautifully potted and ready for holiday decoration or gifting. This year’s sale will take place in Upper Parish Hall before and after the 10am service on Sunday, December 10 and Sunday, December 17. We hope to see you there, to sell you a potted plant and answer your questions about our Ministry

What is Community Concerns? Each fiscal year, Christ Church allocates a portion of its annual budget for charitable giving. The mission of the Community Concerns Committee is to determine how to distribute these funds. In addition, all proceeds from the Amaryllis Sale are directed to the many local, state, national and international organizations we support.

As the lives of so many continue to be affected by pandemic, war and political instability, we continue to re-evaluate our grants to emphasize organizations focused on health care, food security, homelessness and immigration/refugees. While we cannot control world events, we can do our best with what we have to help those most affected by them.

The differing backgrounds, input and enthusiasm of each of our members are all essential to the work of our Ministry. We are actively seeking new members, so if you would like to know more about Community Concerns, please contact any member below. We meet once or twice yearly to share our research and allocate funds, and between meetings we stay in touch with the recipients of our grants to ensure we are doing the most good. The impact and satisfaction that result from our work is SO much greater than the modest time commitment required of each member.
