People of Color Who Inspire: John Lewis this Sunday, August 11 after Lemonade Hour

Join us this summer as we connect Christ Church’s ongoing commitment to learning about and working for racial justice with Godly Play’s People of Color Who Inspire stories to explore how faith and justice have come together to inform the work of important figures throughout history. This Sunday, August 25,  join us in the Chapel from 5-6:30pm for worship, fellowship, and to share the stories of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..

Monthly this summer, people of all ages and experiences are invited to join our pick-up choir. Our last Pick-up Choir is this Sunday, August 18. Meet in the Chapel at 8:30am for a brief rehearsal. We hope to hear you there.

Sign-up for Wednesday Bible Study

On September 18, Wednesday Bible Study will begin our study of the Gospel of Luke.  We will spend the year reading and discussing this beautifully written narrative.  Luke presents a particular view of Jesus as someone who included all people in his message, so Luke’s book is also written for all people regardless of social standing, gender, or religious affiliation. Many stories about Jesus which are familiar to us appear only in Luke and no other gospel.

Interactive class discussion is led by Tracy Rubin, Harvard Divinity School, MTS.  Classes are held at 10-11:30 AM and 7-8:30 PM both in-person in the Memorial Room and via Zoom.  Companion texts to further our learning are free to all participants thanks to the Scripture Study Fund. People of Color Who Inspire: John Lewis this Sunday, August 11 after Lemonade Hour

Join us this summer as we connect Christ Church’s ongoing commitment to learning about and working for racial justice with Godly Play’s People of Color Who Inspire stories to explore how faith and justice have come together to inform the work of important figures throughout history. This Sunday, August 11 Join us following Lemonade Hour in the Memorial Room to hear the stories of  Rep. John Lewis and wonder about his lives together in supported small groups.

  • Sunday, August 25: Join us on the patio from 5-6:30pm for worship, fellowship, and to share the stories of Bishop Barbara Harris (7/28) and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (8/25).
