Did you know that there is a long history of talking about Lent as a kind of Ark? In fact, on the first Sunday of Lent this year, we’ll hear about the covenant God made with Noah after the waters receded. This Lent, drawing on this metaphor and with inspiration from  Gayle Boss’s book “Wild Hope: Stories for Lent from the Vanishing,” this year’s materials will weave together devotional practices with stories of endangered species.  What can we learn from these creatures who accompany us, seeking refuse in the ark? How can they teach us to pray, connect us to our traditions, and help us learn to care for creation? With resources for people of all ages tucked inside, we hope you’ll pick up Lent-To-Go materials and join us in this collective exploration.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14. Lent-to-go kits will be available beginning Feb. 11 in UPH, Wednesday Prayers in Lent begins on Feb. 21 at 8am and 8pm on Zoom, and stay tune for details on a Lenten book group.

Ash Wednesday: Imposition of Ashes at 7:30am, 12pm, and 7:30pm in the Chapel
Nick will be at Hersey station for the 7:15am train with Ashes-to-go. Join us in the Chapel for worship and the imposition of the ashes at 7:30am, 12pm, and 7:30pm.
