The Lens, the Chisel and the Toothpick

A colorful new show of photos and woodcarvings will be presented April 9-May 5 by the Community Art Gallery at Christ Episcopal Church.

Are you curious? Photographer Joan Sewall is curious about swamps, stumps, spirals, shadows, reflections, water droplets, and, well, just about everything else she can see. Woodcarver/ painter Nancy Carroll is curious about the inside of a red pepper and the nose of a lion, and wonders if she can make a painting with a toothpick.

Come and satisfy YOUR curiosity. The Lens, the Chisel and the Toothpick opens on April 9 and runs until May 5 at the Community Art Gallery, Christ Episcopal Church, 1132 Highland Ave, Needham. The Community Art Gallery is free and open to the public Monday-Friday, 9 AM-2 PM, and Sundays 9 AM-noon. A closing reception will be held at 11:30 AM on May 5.

Twenty percent of proceeds from sale of art in the show will be donated to Black Feather Horse Rescue in Plymouth. BFHR is a rescue organization and sanctuary for horses, donkeys, pigs, llamas, ducks and more, and exemplifies the love and caring humans can give to neglected, abandoned, suffering and homeless animals.
