Wild and Wise: Christ Church Men’s Events

The Christ Church Men’s Spirituality Book Group invites men to experience rich conversation with other men from the church at its next meeting Sunday, January 21, at 6:30 pm. The group will be reading selected chapters from Fr. Richard Rohr’s book, From Wild Man to Wise Man: Reflections on Male Spirituality.

The book looks at Christianity with a fresh lens and covers topics such as money, fatherhood, sexuality, addiction and many other important issues. Conversation will be facilitated by John Carr, a parishioner who is a therapist in private practice in Boston and specializes in working with men, fathers, healthcare providers and millennials on parenting, anger and spiritual issues.

The group will meet from 6:30-8:00 pm at the church on the following Sunday evenings:  January 21, February 11, February 25, March 11, March 18, and April 8.  New members are welcome. Please email John Carr if you have questions at johncarr268@gmail.com.

In addition, the men of Christ Church hold an informal fellowship dinner at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month at the Echo Bridge Restaurant, 1068 Bridge Street, Newton Upper Falls. The group extends a welcome to all men with an interest in the parish to join them in breaking bread and fostering relationships. Please RSVP for the upcoming dinner by the previous Tuesday by contacting Mike Niden at 781-801-2151 or Michaelniden@comcast.net.
