Confirmation Class Seeks Clothing Donations

The 2018 Christ Church confirmation class is off and running, with classes under way and members serving as acolytes in church services.

Another important facet of the program, this year and every year, is participation in City Reach, a program run by Common Cathedral. During an evening at the cathedral, students will interact with members of the Boston homeless community and share clothing items they have begun collecting.

The group asks members of the Christ Church community to make donations. Please leave them in the collection box in the Upper Parish Hall for by 4 pm, Friday, February 9.

Please consider providing gently used clothing that is warm, comfortable and rugged–the sort of thing you would wear camping or hiking. The Common Cathedral hosts many more male guests than female guests, so about 80% of donations should be unisex or men’s sizes, particularly larger sizes (XL, XXL and XXXL), hooded sweatshirts and sweat pants. Other items in demand include warm coats, sweaters, T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, jeans, khakis and other casual pants, waterproof boots, comfortable shoes, sneakers, hats, waterproof gloves and belts.
