Welcome to our new rector, Nicholas M. Morris-Kliment!

The Christ Church Vestry and Search Committee are thrilled to announce our ninth Rector, the Reverend Nicholas M. Morris-Kliment. The calling of our new rector has the unanimous support of both committees as well as the blessing of Bishop Tom Shaw. Nick will join us at the start of the church program year in September.

Nick is currently Priest in Charge of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lynnfield, Massachusetts and has been there since May 2012. Prior to this position he was Associate Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord from 2004 to 2012. From 2002 to 2004 he was the Assistant for Youth and Pastoral Care at St. Peter’s Church in Weston, Massachusetts and from 1998 to 2002 he was the Head of Campus Ministry at Choate Rosemary Hall School, Wallingford, Connecticut.

Nick graduated from Yale College in 1985 with a BA in history, and attended Brown University from 1987 to 1992 to achieve an MA in history with work toward a PhD. He graduated from Yale Divinity School in 2002 and was ordained a priest on May 21, 2003. Both of us were impressed with Nick’s pastoral style, intelligence and energy when we met with him.

Nick’s wife Jamie is the head of the Classics Department at Roxbury Latin School. They have two school aged children, Sam and Lydia, as well as two black labs named Thelma and Louise. They will be living in the Rectory and calling Needham home. A Transition Committee is in the process of planning events this fall so we will all have an opportunity to meet Nick and his family and welcome them to the greater Christ Church.

Finally, we all need to give tremendous thanks to the Search Committee for their discernment and many hours of work leading to the call of our new Rector. We are sure you have many questions, so please feel free to ask us, the Vestry or the Search Committee any you may have. Keep an eye out for announcements and further information as we go through the summer, including how we will recognize all that our Interim Priest Suzanne Colburn has done

Yours in faithful service,

Joseph J. Leghorn and Elizabeth Brooks Dennett, Wardens
