Join Brothers in Advent Reflection

Advaent Multi CandlesDuring Advent we await the coming of Christ, an event that awakens our deepest desires and longings. You are invited to participate in this time of anticipation and prayer with the Brothers of the Society of St. John the Evangelist (SSJE), your fellow parishioners and Episcopalians/Anglicans around the world.

Subscribe to the SSJE Advent Word and each morning in your e-mail you will receive a beautiful image and Advent Word meditation from one of the SSJE Brothers that will spark your own reflection and prayer throughout the day. For more information or to subscribe, go to http://adventword.org. You do not need to subscribe if you already receive “Brother, Give Us a Word.”

If you are on social media (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) you can respond with a picture of your own that symbolizes the word of the day and watch as the Global Advent Calendar grows with the images of others. More information on #AdventWord is available at http://www.anglicancommunion.org/adventword.aspx.

Last Week for Giving Tree

Giving Tree

The 2015 Giving Tree is up in the Memorial Room and filled with tags with gift requests. You’re invited to participate.

The gifts will need to be returned to church by Sunday, December 20. Options for helping residents of Shepard House, a program for women in recovery, include Women’s Winter Care Packages and Gifts for Children. We will also be making gifts to Transition House, a battered women’s shelter in Cambridge. Please be sure to sign up for the tags that you take. (There is no sign-up for the white bags for the Women’s Winter Care Packages.)
